Cider Tasting for the Thomas Hardy Society Conference. In Dorchester Town Hall we ran a Cider Tasting for about 100 people! We selected 6 very different ciders from Dorset, Devon and Somerset (including the one we made at the museum on the antique equipment last year) and talked through how to taste, how they are made and the differences between the Ciders. Extracts from Thomas Hardy's writings involving cider were read out in between each tasting. A fun and interesting evening was had by all! (If anyone wants to book a cider tasting for their event please phone for details)

The Big Beef Experiment - Blind Tasting!
An old cousin of ours always put a shin of beef in his cider while it was fermenting. So on our open days last year we decided to put it to the test! It has now finished fermenting, and we have got some volunteers who have bravely agreed to undertake a blind tasting of ciders made with different apples and one with beef added, to see which is best!
